Festival Reception Wednesday, February 22, 2012 / 7pm–10pm San Francisco based designer and printer Lil Tuffy has been designing gig posters for local and international touring bands since 2002. His work has been exhibited in galleries and festivals all over the US as well as Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Serbia, and the UK. February marks the release of his 500th gig poster since his first poster in 2002. The exhibition features rare and landmark posters for bands including Sonic Youth, The Raconteurs, Devo, X, and events such as Noise Pop, Treasure Island Music Festival and CBGB's 30th Anniversary. This show coincides with Noise pop's 20th anniversary; Tuffy has curated the Noise Pop Poster Series since 2004.

Bomb Shelter Radio: Tenderloin, at Evergold Gallery. As a Temporary Autonomous Zone B.S.R.T. aims to liberate the airwaves of the Tenderloin and create a hub for live “Radical” sonic interventions.
During the Noise Pop Festival (Feb 21–26, 2012) Noise Pop will program live musical broadcasts over the “Bomb Shelter Radio” airwaves on 88.1fm. The live shows will be open to the public.

On Wednesday, February 22, Litquake and Noise Pop present the raucous return of Way Behind the Music: From Ozzy to Jewel, a night of hilariously odd music memoirs brought to life onstage! Join our lineup of esteemed musicians and writers as they read excerpts from another choice selection of music autobiographies, featuring the actual published literary efforts of Ozzy Osbourne, Sammy Hagar, Jewel, Slash, Ted Nugent, Marianne Faithfull, Angela Bowie (wife of David Bowie), Jim Hutton (boyfriend of Freddie Mercury), Christopher Ciccone (brother of Madonna), and many more. Readings performed by Bob Calhoun, Parker Gibbs, Jon Ginoli, Penelope Houston, Carletta Sue Kay, Jennifer Maerz, Erin McDermott, Joshua Mohr, and Joel Selvin. Hosted by Anthony Bedard (Hank IV).
